Hi, my current laptop battery, even after a full-charge doesn't last for an hour. It's pretty inconvenient especially when I am outdoor. How do I prolong or maintain my laptop's battery life? Is it worthy to buy a replacement battery?
The replacement battery price is normally quite high for branded computers. If your laptop computer is old enough to give you enough reason of replacing it, it's better to change laptop instead.=)

Hi I managed to find your suggestion for laptop overheating in one of your post (http://www.lappyfun.com/2009/09/common-symptoms-and-solutions-for.html). Thanks.
Hi, for laptop overheating, you may try to elevate your laptop to have angles like 45 degrees so that there's air flow below the laptop.
Better if you can use your laptop in airconditioned environment.
Clean the laptop as suggested, the area to look at is the air vents and keyboard.

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop system time. It seems to be ticking slower than my other devices like digital clock or mobile phone. Have attempted to synchronise the time. But after a while (e.g. 1 day), my laptop is about 2-3 minutes slower. Why is this so?
hi,normally when we talk about system clock, we always relate it to the CMOS battery. You may try few things, is the clock in BIOS the same as the one in normal mode? if it is, it means something to do with your operating system. Other than that, you may try the utility below to synchronize your clock. :

Hi lappyfun, my acer laptop is currently running on windows vista home version. I am on 3mb ram. However I still feel that the start up is much slower than my desk top that is running on 1 mb ram, windows XP.
Any solutions to speed up my booting up?

Hi LapyFun, when I login to a platform, there was an error message pop out: "Fail to connect to server for user authentication. Please check that if your network is running behind a firewall or proxy server." Does it mean that I need to turn off my firewall? But this is not advisable as doing so will prone to virus attack? hello. my friend's internet has a problem. Even when it is on , it cannot connect. after clicking repair, it also doesn't work. After disabling and re-enabling, it also doesn't work. What is teh problem?
hi Henry Goh: Few things that you can check. First, is this the first time you encounter this problem.Second, can you connect to internet? Third, try at another time and see if you encounter the same problem. Please let me know the answers so that i can diagnose further for you.
For internet problem. You may try to connect to different network and try again. Sometimes, people might just forgot or accidentally turn off the wireless internet button beside the laptop and having no luck to connect to internet after that.
